Dear colleague,
The days are short, the evenings long. Outside, the world is gray and cold, and that’s when we all look for places and moments where we can feel warm and secure. In the dark winter months, that feeling of belonging somewhere or doing something that makes you feel warm inside and out, is more important than ever.
Some find that warmth in a sport that clears their head, like Michela Apruzzese, who completed her first Hyrox race this spring and now wants nothing else. Others find it in a passion that is much more than a hobby, such as scuba diver Filomena Porta or industrial designer Frán Julia. Still others, such as Maria Gelvez, unconsciously think back to the burning candles in the streets of Bucaramanga, Colombia, or, like Maarten Heintz, look forward to their weekly moment of happiness, together with their little one, a glass of wine, and some tasty tapas. And then, of course, there are those who call their PNO office home. Could Florian Riegel give a friendlier description of the place where he spends his working days?
The stories in this edition of Connected are all about warmth and safety, but also connection and inspiration. So pour yourself a glass of Glühwein, Gløgg, Eggnog or Rakomelo, pull a blanket over your legs, and let yourself be carried away by the extraordinary stories of our colleagues, each and every one an example of how we can find our own warmth.
