Q1
What’s a childhood memory or early gaming experience that stayed with you?
I got a game called “Midtown Madness 2” for Christmas in 2000 at 6 years old. It was a racing game set in San Francisco and London. It was also possible to free roam, which I did a lot. I was in San Francisco the summer of 2000, so I recognized the places, and played that game A LOT on our family computer. I also have fond memories of “Lego: Rock Raiders” which was a strategy Lego game in the Rock Raiders universe. Where you would mine resources in different planets and build bases. A lot of fun, and pretty hard, so I never completed it.
Q2
What’s something you played recently—alone or with others—that really stuck with you or taught you something?
My most memorable game must be Battlefield 2. I was first introduced to the franchise with 1942, and also played Vietnam, but it was BF2 that really hit me. I played it a lot with friends at private LAN-parties and after school on my school-laptop. I had all the expansion packs, which was really underrated in my opinion. I also played a lot of their mod called “Project Reality” which I believe spiritually evolved into todays “Squad”.
Really looking forward to the next Battlefield game, and I am hoping it will bring back some of the BF2/3/4 glory days
Q3
What’s a moment in gaming that made you feel truly accomplished—like something you’d brag about in a job interview? Think boss battles, platinum trophies, or anything that shows your resilience and excellence.
Nothing worth mentioning.
Q4
A game that offers deep immersion, challenge, or relaxation—perfect for solo play and personal growth.
Since I am now a PlayStation gamer (until 2012, I played on PC, mainly during the dark winter months), I have a number of PSN-specific games that I really enjoyed. Pretty vanilla, but The Last of Us (especially nr 2) was really great, and is a great playthrough now, especially with the TV Show on at the time. I also enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima, great game for sleek visuals and gameplay mechanics.
Q5
Which game would you use to test team dynamics, collaboration, or just share a good laugh with colleagues or friends?
I recently picked up Battlefield 4 again, which is absolute chaos and a good laugh.
Would also recommend Hell Let Loose for a great WWII-simulation game. This game is not as demanding as ArmA, but it does require good communication and resource management to succeed.
Q6
Which character best reflects your role in a team project at PNO? The silent strategist, the chaos coordinator, the morale booster?
Probably the morale booster
Q7
Imagine you’re sent to the ultimate beach office. What one game would you bring to keep yourself entertained, sane, and possibly productive?
Tough one. I would say Battlefield 2 anno 2007, with all the servers and TeamSpeak 2 to chat with mates. Peak!
Q8
From teamwork and adaptability to decision-making under pressure or creative problem-solving—what gaming lessons show up in your day-to-day?
I don’t think it’s from one game only but it is the ability to just make a decision. Sometimes you get stuck in long discussions where you just need to decide. Also, games have taught me better English than at school (Norwegian is my first language).
